Picnic Pavilions

Thompson Park's pavilions are the perfect place to hold family reunions, family or company picnics, banquets, etc.

To reserve a pavilion for your event, contact the park superintendent.

Pavilion #1

Pavilion #1 Located on the upper circle of the park, next to the tennis courts,
and is the largest pavilion seating 300 people.
Its features include:

  • Kitchen area with water and sink
  • 2 large, 4ft x 4ft charcoal grills
  • Swings and non-flushable toilets on sight
  • Electricity
  • Accessible to the walking circle, tennis courts, front nine disc golf course, amphitheater, and
    walking trails
  • Closest pavilion to the flush toilets located near the main entrance

Rental fee:
$85 for the full pavilion or $50 for half.

Directions:
Enter through the main gate at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Parkway. Turn left and follow the road to the bottom section. Located on the right side of the road is a Pavilion #1 directional sign pointing to the gravel road that leads to the pavilion.

Pavilion #2

Pavilion #2 is located below the upper circle of the park and to the left of the main entrance.
Its features include:

  • Most secluded pavilion
  • Seats 150 people
  • 2 fireplaces
  • Electricity and water
  • Non-flushable toilets
  • Sliding board and swings on site
  • Accessible to the hiking trails and the back nine disc golf course

Directions:
Enter the main gate at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Parkway. Turn left and follow the road to the bottom section. Located on the left side of the road is a Pavilion #2 directional sign pointing down to the road that loops around the #2 Pavilion.

Pavilion #3

Pavilion #3 is located at the lower section of the park near the swimming pool and above the football field.
Its features include:

  • Most rented pavilion
  • Seats 150 people
  • Located closest to the children's playground area
  • 2 fireplaces
  • Water and electricity
  • Non-flushable toilets
  • Sliding board and swings on site
  • Accessible to the big rock, hiking trails, swimming pool, and basketball court

Rental fee: $55

Directions:
Enter the main entrance at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Parkway and then turn left. Follow the road that leads to the lower section. Continue past the directional signs for the #1 and #2 Pavilions. After stopping at the intersection at the lower section, follow the directional sign for Pavilion #3 pointing straight ahead. Pavilion #3 is located on the left side of the road.

If entering through the lower entrance from Anderson Boulevard, stop at the Y intersection. Turn left and follow the road up and around past the big rock. Pavilion #3 is located on the right side of the road.

Pavilion #4

Pavilion #4 is located just beneath Pavilion #3 and is the smallest.
Its features include:

  • Seats 30 - 40 people
  • Level with the football field
  • Electricity and water
  • Closest to the lower section of the park from the Anderson Boulevard entrance
  • Accessible to the big rock, hiking trails, swimming pool, basketball court, and children's play area
  • Short walking distance to the non-flushable toilets located at Pavilion #3

Directions:
From the lower entrance to the park, located on the left side of Anderson Boulevard, enter and stop at the Y intersection. Turn left and follow the road that leads to the big rock. Pavilion #4 will be located on the right side of the road directly passing through the gated area.

From the main entrance at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Parkway, enter and turn left. Follow the road that leads to the lower section of the park, continuing past the directional signs for the #1 and #2 Pavilions. After stopping at the intersection at the lower section, follow the directional sign for the #4 Pavilion pointing straight ahead. Pass Pavilion #3 on your left continuing on to Pavilion #4 located below it.
